Sentimental Fall Micro Wedding at Cambridge Mill

‘You are exactly

precisely and perfectly

what I waited for’ - T. K. Gregson

Where do we even begin with these two?! Thinking of Jess and José just makes us so happy! As with all ‘pandemic’ couples, it was quite an emotional roller coaster leading up to their October wedding. The government’s changing mandates and the seriousness of the pandemic made Jess and José question whether their wedding day would and should happen. They chose to wait it out and see what the situation was like close to their wedding date. As the date approached, they received news that their venue was still hosting events; however, things would look very different from what they planned; they would have to drastically decrease the number of guests, all guests would have to wear a mask (expect for when they sat at their tables), tables at their dinner reception would be physically distanced between social bubbles and no dancing was permitted beyond Jess and José’s first dance and their dances with their parents.

After weighing their options they decided to go ahead with their wedding day. Once they had made their decision, there was nothing that was going to stop them from enjoying the days leading up to their wedding as bride and groom-to-be!!

Jess’ uber-feminine Pronovias wedding dress was absolutely jaw-dropping gorgeous. Its delicate beadwork and floral appliqués was love at first sight for Junilo and I! As Jess finished getting ready, José was two floors away with his boys by his side, helping him with the finishing touches for his big day. After a celebratory drink and a few words of wisdom from José’s groomsmen, there was just one last member of the wedding party that had to get ready before leaving for Cambridge Mill; their pup, Chico!

José got Chico all prepped for his big walk down the aisle. He looked as cute as ever!!!

With everyone first look ready, José and his groomsmen headed to Cambridge Mill’s neighbouring Mill Race Park to get set up for the bride and groom’s first look. The Mill’s beautiful stone facade and fall’s gentle changing tones set the backdrop for their memorable reveal.

What a first look it was! Their genuine reactions, the happy tears and their excitement left Junilo and I a bit misty-eyed. Their months of planning had finally led to this moment!!

It wasn’t only Jess and José who had their first look. Chico had his moment to shine as well; showing off his wedding day tux :) Once he saw Jess, there was no leaving her side!!

Jess and José’s bridal squad then joined the newlyweds-to-be. Can we just take a minute to say how great they all were?!?! It was so meaningful to see how their friends and family rallied around them to make their wedding day the most memorable day of their lives.

Overlooking the river and with its rustic glam, Cambridge Mill’s ceremony site is unforgettable. The sun was gently peeking through the clouds just as Jess and José’s ceremony began; giving the room a beautiful golden glow.

Jess and José’s very personal vows to one another were such a significative part of their day. Their promises spoke to their commitment, love, support and loyalty. There wasn’t a dry eye in the audience which speaks to their vows’ meaningful words and sentiments.

As the newlyweds walked down the aisle the room was filled with their family and friends’ joyous cheers! They were finally husband and wife; ready to begin life’s next big steps.

The golden fall light gently bathed the Mill’s stone staircase; making it the perfect moment to capture some post-ceremony bridal photos. We just HAD to showcase Jess’ beautiful cathedral-length veil on the stairs! José was the perfect gentleman AND assistant as we had some fun with Jess’ veil!

It was time to celebrate!! Cambridge Mill’s Fall’s Room and Solarium, with their breathtaking views and sunsets, was the location for the newlyweds’ dinner reception. Jess’ floral vision of seasonal greens with touches of red and blush popped in the exposed stone room.

Dancing to John Legend’s ‘All of Me’ for their first dance, it was as if they were the only two people in the room. The emotive words of the lyrics, ‘give your all to me, I'll give my all to you….you're my end and my beginning, even when I lose, I'm winning’ were the perfect continuation of the vows Jess and José promised to each other earlier.

As the rays of sun gently set on the horizon, we took advantage of the Mill’s balcony to capture some final golden hour couple photographs. A stunning location to end this beautiful couple’s wedding day! These two can be so proud that despite the difficult year, they made the most of what life had presented them. They lived every minute of their special wedding day to the full; proof of the power of love!
